Ladies, do us gentlemen a favor.

Found this on my wall today. Seriously.
I’m actually such a sap when it comes to seeing so many people leave their Facebook greetings for my birthday. I mean, nowadays, it’s not like I can look forward to people sending me actual cards over the mail or things like that… (Although, it means that much more to me when people actually do!) Just knowing that people take even a bit of time out of their lives to make mine a litter cooler for a day… Makes me happy! And super blessed to know that I even have some pretty awesome friends!
But I’ll be honest. There was a moment when I was just waiting the entire day for ONE note. From you-know-who, of course. I mean, how can that NOT be a big deal to me? To have the girl of my dreams take time to wish me a happy birthday. But unfortunately, whoever’s on that hot seat that year, I always put them on a pedestal as to expecting the grandest, most heartfelt message ever. Except not. And this year was no exception.
I’m not going to go into details on that, because I feel like I’m super wrong in having that expectation and it makes me feel shallow to use today as a friendship test…. Even on something as stupid as Facebook. At the same time though, I can’t let ONE dud of a greeting get in the way of the other 73 (and counting) messages that I actually enjoy reading. And helps me realize how far I’ve gone from the year before— how much more friends I’ve made, and even how even better friends I am with some of them. I feel super blessed. And that’s all that really matters this year!
tl;dr Can’t wait for the BBQ this Saturday, ha!

An amazing show, as always! She sounded awesome, and Kina is just a sweetheart on stage as she is off! And that cello guy, Keith. He definitely adds a whole ‘nother dimension to her music! Jesse, Imaginary Friend, was great too! Definitely loved the new songs that he performed.
All that aside, perhaps the highlight of my night was Emi being there as a surprise guest; She showed up and sang with Kina for a few songs! And afterwards at the meet and greet, we actually got a good conversation going about our lives (until Aladdin Theater staff were like, no.), and of course, I couldn’t contain myself and my heart melted, ha! She’s like… my one true love right now. :)
All in all, best night of my summer so far!

I learned from last year’s show to show up early before the tweens flood the line. I think this was a success.
T-minus 1h30m before Kina Grannis!

They spelled fourth*/force* wrong. Unless they meant to never make sense at all.
The last time I posted anything relevant to this chick was… about 2 months ago. So what happened between now and then?
Absolutely nothing.
We’re still in the same place in our lives. I’m just working and doing ministry and all that cool stuff up here, while she’s doing school and her cool stuff down there. However, it HAS gotten ridiculously awkward during the times she was around. It’s inevitable. And it hasn’t been the same since.
But that’s not to say that I’ve quit, or have lost any feeling for her. In fact, I’ve fallen for her that much more. And dangit, the pursuit is not over until I say it’s over.
I mean, the wait’s not over until God says it’s over. :)
